1. Who we are
urcard.ai ("urcard", "we", "us") provides dynamic digital business cards. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@urcard.ai.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your name, email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash, never in plain text). For company accounts we also store your company name, handle and role.
Card content
The details you add to your card, such as job title, phone number, links, booking URL, photo, logo and any text you choose to publish. This content is intended to be public by design.
Payment information
Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. We keep a Stripe customer reference and your subscription status so we can manage your plan.
Usage information
For your cards we record simple, aggregate counts such as views, contact saves and link clicks, so you can see how your card performs. We also keep standard server logs (for example IP address and request time) for security and reliability.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the service: hosting your card, generating your lock screen wallpaper and showing your public page.
- To manage your account, subscription and billing.
- To show you analytics about your own cards.
- To keep the service secure and to prevent abuse.
- To contact you about your account, such as confirmation, password reset and important service notices.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers we need to run urcard:
- Amazon Web Services, our hosting provider. Your data is stored in the Asia Pacific (Sydney) region in Australia.
- Stripe, our payment processor, to take subscription payments.
- Our email delivery provider, to send account and service emails.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of urcard and its users.
5. Public cards
Your card is published at a public web address so the people you meet can view and save it. Anything you put on your card can be seen by anyone with the link or QR code. Please do not add information you would not want to be public.
6. Details you share with a card owner
When you view someone's urcard you may be offered the chance to send them your own contact details. This is always optional, and never required to view or save their card.
If you choose to share, we collect only what you enter on that form — your name, and an email address or mobile number, plus a company name and a note if you add them. We also record when you shared, the time zone your device reports, and any event or location label the card owner had set at the time, so they can remember where you met. We store a one-way hash of your IP address to rate-limit abuse of the form; we do not keep the address itself.
The card owner is the controller of the details you share with them. They receive your details in their urcard account, and we act on their behalf in storing them. We do not sell this information, and we do not use it to market urcard to you.
We will email you a copy of the card owner's contact details if you ask us to on that form. The card owner may email you about their own business only if you tick the box giving them permission to; you can withdraw that permission at any time by telling them, or by deleting the details you shared.
You can delete what you shared at any time, without an account. Every email we send you about a connection contains a link that shows exactly what was stored and lets you erase it in one tap. You can also email hello@urcard.ai and we will action it. Deleting removes the details from the card owner's urcard contacts; it cannot remove anything they have already saved to their own phone.
Details shared with a card owner are kept until you or they delete them, or until the owner closes their account.
7. Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in and to keep your account secure. We do not use advertising or third party tracking cookies.
8. Data retention
We keep your account and card data while your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep records to meet legal or accounting obligations.
9. Your rights
You can access, correct or delete most of your information directly in your dashboard. You may also ask us to provide a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account entirely. To make a request, email hello@urcard.ai.
10. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No online service can be perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
11. Children
urcard is intended for professional use by adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through the service.
